FAQ · Redmond, WA

Head spa and massage, asked at the front desk.

A head spa here is scalp and hair care at a reclined basin, finished with a blow-dry, so you leave dry. There’s no cutting and no color. Everything else that comes up at the desk is grouped below, and every price in those answers is quoted from the studio menu rather than rounded off for the web.

If yours is not here, call (425) 497-9700 — someone answers between 10 AM and 10 PM, any day.

Booking & hours

Booking & hours.

Getting a time — or taking whatever is open.

Do I need an appointment?

Not strictly — but booking is how you get the time you want rather than the one that happens to be free. Call (425) 497-9700 or book online; the calendar runs around the clock even though the studio does not. Evenings and weekends go first, and the couples room and the two-station basin room go with them.

Are walk-ins welcome?

Yes — it is printed on our door. The trade-off is that you take what is open at that moment. On a quiet Tuesday afternoon that can be almost anything on the menu; at 7 PM on a Friday it may be a 30-minute back massage ($50) rather than the 90 minutes you pictured.

Can I get a same-day or last-minute appointment?

Sometimes — it depends entirely on what is still open when you call, and nobody at the desk can promise a slot in advance. Call (425) 497-9700 and you will hear what is free today rather than a maybe. The day is 12 hours long, 10 AM to 10 PM, so the block after 6 PM is worth asking about even when the afternoon has gone.

How early should I arrive?

Five to ten minutes ahead is plenty. There is no long intake ritual, but you will want time to park, find Suite 190, and say what you actually want from the session. If you are running behind, call — we will do what the schedule allows and tell you on the phone what that is.

Are you really open until 10 PM, seven days a week?

Every day, 10 AM to 10 PM, weekends included — no quietly shortened Sunday. The late block is genuinely bookable, which is why plenty of guests come after work rather than give up a Saturday. Longer sessions need an earlier evening start: 90 minutes has to be on the table by 8:30 PM to finish at close. Weekdays also unlock the 70-minute Signature Head Spa Weekday Special at $95.

Head spa

The head spa.

What happens at the basin — and afterwards.

What is a head spa, and how is it different from a salon wash?

A salon washes your hair so it can cut or style it — a two-minute prelude. Here the wash is the whole appointment. You lie face-up at a reclined hydrotherapy basin under warm running water while a therapist works the scalp in sections, then the neck and shoulders, with Milbon scalp care throughout. The 60-minute Signature Head Spa is $80.

How much does a head spa cost in Redmond?

The tiers run $70 to $130: 45 minutes at $70, 60 at $80, the 70-minute weekday special at $95, 90 minutes at $120, and the Chinese herb versions at $90 for 60 minutes or $130 for 90. Scalp treatments sit above that — $180 and $220 for 80 minutes. The main tiers are in the table above; every one of these numbers is on the full price breakdown.

Does my hair get wet, and do I leave damp?

Wet, completely. Damp, no. Every session ends with a warm rinse and a blow-dry, so you leave dry rather than towel-wrapped. It is a finish, not a salon blowout — if you style your hair a particular way, bring what you normally use. Thick hair takes longer to dry.

What should I wear?

Whatever you walked in wearing. The basin work is done face-up with a towel across the shoulders — a collar that does not mind a splash is the only thought. For body massage you undress to your own comfort level under the sheet and stay draped throughout.

Head spa, scalp treatment, scalp analysis — what is the difference?

The head spa is the relaxation session: warm water, massage, blow-dry, $70 to $130 by length and version. Scalp treatments are longer and more targeted — Scalp Essence, 80 minutes, $180; Scalp Non-Invasive Hydrating, 80 minutes, $220. Scalp Analysis is neither: a 10-minute micro-camera look for $30, so you pick rather than guess.

Warm water running from the gold arch rinse fixture over a guest's hair at the head spa basin in Redmond, WA
Suite 190 · NE Shen St, Redmond

— The rooms, plainly

A basin room built for two, a couples room with two tables, private single rooms.

The basins recline, with the rinse fixture on an arch overhead, so nothing presses on your neck. Which room you get follows what you book. Coming in from out of town? The Bellevue guide and the late-hours guide cover the drive and the last useful start time.

Massage & bodywork

Massage & pressure.

Length, pressure, cupping marks, coming in pregnant.

Which massage length should I pick?

Thirty minutes ($50) covers back, neck and shoulders and nothing else — right when one area is the whole problem. Sixty ($80) is a full body at a working pace. Ninety ($120) is Swedish plus deep tissue, where a therapist stops rationing time. Two hours ($160) adds hot stone. Choose by how many areas need attention, not by the clock.

It is my first massage here. What actually happens?

You say what hurts and how hard you want it worked; you undress to your own comfort level under the sheet; you stay draped the whole way through. Your therapist checks the pressure early rather than at the end. Thirty minutes ($50) is enough for one stubborn shoulder, an hour ($80) covers the body at a working pace, and there is nothing here you can get wrong.

Can I change the pressure once we have started?

Please do — that is the point of saying something at minute ten rather than reviewing it at minute sixty. Lighter, firmer, skip that spot, spend the rest of the hour on one shoulder: all fair. Your therapist cannot feel what you feel, and nobody here hears a correction as a complaint.

Does cupping leave marks?

It can. Cups can leave circular marks that fade over a few days, and how visible they are varies from person to person — NCCIH's overview of cupping lists that discolouration among the expected effects rather than as a complication. If there is a wedding or a beach day in your week, say so first: placement can work around clothing, or cupping can be skipped. Cupping is only sold inside a massage here: sixty minutes with cupping is $100, and the shortest line is the 30-minute Massage + Cupping at $70.

Do you offer prenatal massage, and from which trimester?

Yes — Pregnant Massage is 60 minutes at $90 or 90 minutes at $130, side-lying with bolstering, in the second and third trimester. Mention it when you book so the room is set up before you arrive. Massage may help with relaxation and everyday muscle tension, but it is not medical care: talk to your doctor or midwife first.

Couples & groups

Two of you.

One room, two places in it.

How does couples pricing work?

The couples lines are priced for two guests together, not per person. Couple Massage is $160 for the pair for 60 minutes — two tables, one room. The Double Relaxing packages run $260 to $420, also for the pair: $320 buys 120 minutes of full body massage plus a Signature Head Spa for both of you. Everywhere else, prices are per guest.

Do we have to be a couple to book the couples room?

No. It is two tables in one room, or two stations at the basins, and who is on them is up to you — friends, sisters, a parent and their adult child. Book it as the couples service either way; the price covers the room and both places in it, not the relationship.

Can we do a massage and a head spa in the same visit?

That is what the Relaxing Packages are — both services in one appointment. Where both halves are sold separately the package costs exactly their sum: the $130 is the $50 back massage plus the $80 Signature, so what you gain is one booking and one trip, not a discount. Back Massage plus Signature Head Spa is 90 minutes for $130; Full Body Massage plus Signature Head Spa is 120 minutes for $160; the 150-minute pairings run $200 to $260. The two-guest versions are the $260 to $420 lines above.

Getting here & good to know

Getting here.

The garage, gift cards, and one honest limit.

Where do I park, and is it validated?

Free, in the shared garage under the block — the one beneath the Aloft and Element Seattle Redmond hotels. Turn in from NE Shen St between the two hotel buildings, park anywhere, and bring your ticket in. The front desk validates it, so parking costs nothing. We are Suite 190; the location page walks the approach step by step.

How do I tell whether this is the best head spa for me?

By the things you can check before you call, not by a star average. Every price on this page is published in advance. The door is open 10 AM to 10 PM, seven days. Scalp work and massage — or scalp work and a facial — can share one appointment, so a full body massage plus a Signature session is 120 minutes for $160 rather than two separate trips. Parking is free with validation. Compare those four against anywhere else you are weighing up — we publish no rating of our own, because the ones that exist sit on third-party platforms and disagree with each other.

Do you sell gift cards?

Yes — through Fresha, the same system the booking runs on. Buy one online and it arrives by email, which makes it survivable the night before a birthday. If you are unsure what the person would choose, the 60-minute Signature ($80) and the 90-minute Luxury ($120) are the two easiest. Facials run $80 to $180.

Is any of this a substitute for medical care?

No. Massage and scalp care may help with relaxation and everyday muscle tension, and that is the honest limit — nothing here treats, cures or fixes a condition. NCCIH's overview of massage therapy frames it the same way, and Mayo Clinic's relaxation-technique guidance treats this kind of thing as one option among several for managing stress rather than as medicine. Pain that is severe, persistent or unexplained belongs with a clinician first. Tell your therapist about injuries, recent surgery, blood thinners, or skin and scalp conditions before the session starts.

One call settles the rest.

Prices live on the services page, the garage walkthrough on the location page. Anything else — ask.
