Therapist working through a guest's scalp during a head spa session at Pacific Massage & Head Spa in Redmond, WA

In short

Pacific Massage & Head Spa is a head spa and massage studio at 15220 NE Shen St, Suite 190, Redmond, WA 98052.

Two things carry the place.

Japanese-style scalp care at a reclined hydrotherapy basin — 45 minutes at $70, the Signature at 60 minutes for $80, 90 minutes at $120.

And therapeutic massage: $50 for 30 minutes on the back, $80 for the hour, $120 for 90 minutes of Swedish and deep tissue.

Open every day from 10 AM to 10 PM, walk-ins welcome, and the garage downstairs is free once the front desk validates your ticket.

01 — What we do

Head spa and bodywork, one door.

Everything happens in one suite. Suite 190, in the block on NE Shen St that also holds the Aloft and Element hotels, just off 152nd Ave NE. What goes on inside splits cleanly in two, and most of the menu is a version of one of them — or both, stacked into a single appointment.

The head spa is the reason most people find us. You lie back at a basin built for this and nothing else, and warm water runs while a therapist works the scalp in sections: hairline, crown, the ridge behind the ears, then down into the neck and shoulders. Milbon scalp care runs through the session. It closes with a conditioning step, a warm rinse and a blow-dry, so you leave dry rather than damp. The short introduction is 45 minutes ($70). The 60-minute Signature ($80) is what most first-timers book, and the 90-minute Luxury ($120) is the same shape with the pace pulled back.

The massage side is plainer, and it takes up as much of the menu. Half an hour on the back, neck and shoulders is $50 — enough for one stubborn spot, not much more. A full hour is $80. Ninety minutes of Swedish plus deep tissue is $120, which is the point at which a therapist can stop hurrying. Pressure belongs to you: ask for lighter, ask for harder, and say so again halfway through if the first answer stopped being true.

Around those two sit the rest — facials, scrubs, cupping added into a massage rather than sold beside it, and the packages that put a massage and a head spa in the same booking, from $130. If your scalp is the actual reason you are coming, the 10-minute Scalp Analysis ($30) puts a camera on it first, so you choose a treatment instead of guessing at one.

Come for the scalp

Tightness across the crown, buildup, a head that has been in front of a monitor since breakfast. Face-up, water running, 45 to 90 minutes, blow-dry at the end.

Head spa pricing

Come for the back

A shoulder that has not loosened in a week, legs after a long ride, or an hour you simply want back. Swedish through deep tissue, 30 minutes to two hours.

Massage pricing

Said plainly

Massage and scalp care may help with relaxation and everyday muscle tension — about the level at which Mayo Clinic Health System discusses massage and stress. Neither is a substitute for medical care.

02 — The space

The Redmond head spa, front desk back.

Reception desk and retail shelves of scalp and skin care at Pacific Massage & Head Spa in Redmond, WA

Reception

A wood wall, a pink lotus sign, and shelves of scalp and skin care. This is where the parking ticket changes hands — hand it over at the desk and it gets validated before you go back. It is also the right place for the questions people feel silly asking: which service, how long, what happens to hair that was colored last week.

Walk-ins are welcome here, and it is printed on the door rather than buried in a policy page. Booking ahead simply decides which room and which hour you get.

  • Therapist working through a guest's scalp at the hydrotherapy basin during a head spa session at Pacific Massage & Head Spa in Redmond, WA

    The basin

A reclined chair, a deep basin, and a gold arch overhead that carries the rinse water. You stay face-up with a towel across your shoulders, so nothing about the position asks anything of you. Warm water runs for most of the hour.

  • Private head spa room with a gold hydrotherapy basin and treatment bed at Pacific Massage & Head Spa, Redmond, Washington

    The head spa room

One station, one bed, one room to yourself. Light stays low and the sound is water and not much else. This is where a solo head spa happens, whether it is the 45-minute introduction or the 90-minute version.

  • Two head spa stations side by side, each with a gold hydrotherapy basin, at Pacific Massage & Head Spa in Redmond, WA

    Side by side

Two head spa stations in one room, which is how sisters, a mother and daughter, or two colleagues on a long lunch end up booked together. There is a second room with two massage tables for the same idea — Couple Massage is $160 for both guests, 60 minutes.

  • Private massage room with a made-up table and warm lamplight at Pacific Massage & Head Spa in Redmond, WA

    The massage rooms

Single rooms, low light, a table that has been made up fresh. You undress to your comfort and stay under the sheet; the therapist works one region at a time and only uncovers what is being worked on.

03 — A first visit

Start to finish.

Here is the whole sequence, in the order it actually happens, so the only surprise on a first visit is how fast the hour goes.

Book Online
  1. Park under the block

Come off 152nd Ave NE onto NE Shen St and turn into the garage entrance between the two hotel buildings. Park anywhere, take the ticket with you, and head for Suite 190. The step-by-step with a schematic of the approach lives on the location page.

  2. Two minutes at the desk

What is tight, what to leave alone, how much pressure you like, and anything a therapist should know first — a pregnancy, a recent injury, a scalp or skin condition, a fragrance you react to. Book ahead and the room is already held for you. Walk in and you take whatever is free at that moment, which may not be the service you had in mind.

  3. The session

Head spa: you stay dressed and face-up, and the only thing asked of you is to let your head be heavy. Massage: you undress to your comfort and stay draped under a sheet throughout. Either way, talking is optional and changing your mind is not a problem — lighter, warmer, skip the legs, stay longer on the shoulder. Say it when you think it.

  4. The finish

Head spa ends with a rinse and a blow-dry, so you can go straight back out to dinner rather than home to fix your hair. After a massage most people sit for a minute and let the room come back into focus. Leave yourself a little slack before whatever is next — the hour tends to land afterwards.

  5. On the way out

Ticket validated at the desk, and the next appointment booked then and there if a particular hour matters to you. Gift cards are handled online through Fresha, same as booking.

04 — The honest part

What this head spa is not.

Not a medical clinic

Nothing here is diagnosis or treatment. Massage and scalp care may help with relaxation and everyday muscle tension, and that is the whole of the claim — no promise about hair loss, headaches, circulation, skin conditions or an injury that has been bothering you since spring. That is roughly where the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health lands on massage as well: useful for some things, studied unevenly, and not a replacement for care. If something on your scalp or skin is changing, itching or painful, or if a pain has outlasted a couple of weeks, see a clinician. NCCIH’s consumer guidance says the same in plainer terms — tell the practitioner what is going on, and keep your own provider in the loop. Tell your therapist before the session starts, too. It changes how the work is done.

No cuts, no color

No cuts, no color, no perms, no chemical straightening. The blow-dry at the end of a head spa is a finish, not a style — it exists so you leave dry. A salon washes hair in order to cut it. Here the wash is the appointment.

Not a quote-on-request menu

Every service and every price is published on the services page. Couples and double package prices cover two guests; everything else is per person. Add-ons are listed separately — mention them when you book so the time is built into the slot.

No forms, no message queue

There is no contact form on this site and no message queue behind it. Two ways in: (425) 497-9700 during opening hours, or the Fresha booking page, which shows live availability instead of taking a request. Questions people ask before a first visit are answered on the FAQ page.

05 — Visiting

Open late, and the garage is free.

Guests come from Bellevue, Kirkland, Sammamish, Bothell and the rest of the Eastside as well as Redmond itself; how long that takes depends entirely on traffic and the hour you pick. The doors stay open until 10 PM, which puts a session after work, or after dinner, without a rush.

06 — About the studio

Four questions, asked often.

These four are about the place itself. Booking mechanics are on the contact page, every price is on the services page, and the long list lives on the FAQ page.

What is Pacific Massage & Head Spa?

+

A single-location head spa and massage studio at 15220 NE Shen St, Suite 190, Redmond, WA 98052, open every day from 10 AM to 10 PM. Two services carry it: Japanese-style scalp care at a reclined hydrotherapy basin, 45 minutes at $70 through 90 minutes at $120, and therapeutic massage, from $50 for 30 minutes on the back up to $160 for two hours. Walk-ins are welcome; booking ahead decides which room and which hour you get.

Do you cut, color or style hair?

+

No — no cuts, no color, no perms, no chemical straightening. Every head spa ends with a conditioning step, a warm rinse and a blow-dry, and the blow-dry is a finish rather than a style: it exists so you leave dry. A salon washes hair in order to cut it. Here the wash is the appointment.

What rooms are there, and can two people be side by side?

+

Reception, a solo head spa room with one basin, a room holding two head spa stations, single massage rooms, and a second room with two massage tables. So two guests can be booked side by side either way — Couple Massage is $160 for both guests for 60 minutes, and the Double packages run $260 to $420 for the pair.

Which service should I book on a first visit?

+

Most first-timers book the 60-minute Signature Head Spa at $80. If your scalp is the reason you are coming, the 10-minute Scalp Analysis ($30) puts a micro-camera on it first, so you choose instead of guessing. If it is your back and shoulders, 30 minutes is $50, a full hour is $80, and 90 minutes of Swedish plus deep tissue is $120. Massage and scalp care may help with relaxation and everyday muscle tension; neither is a substitute for medical care.
